About Us
Our story.
Sonia Corina, Inc. is a non-profit organization serving the developmentally disabled community within the northern regions of California. Established in 2004, Sonia Corina, Inc. was founded by Catalina (Katy) Alcantra-Santillan in honor of her eldest daughter, Sonia Corina Santillan, who passed away tragically in 1975 at the age of four. In celebratory of Sonia Corina’s short and beautiful life, Sonia Corina, Inc. strives to make a difference in the lives of families in need, specifically relating to those dealing with a developmental disability. Sonia Corina’s successes are as a result of the team work of the agency’s professionals and leadership of its board of directors and CEO. For over 35 years, founder and CEO, Katy Santillan has worked with various programs servicing individuals with developmental disabilities and individuals in need of respite and specialized care.
Sonia Corina provides short-term in-home relief through workers who are qualified, compassionate, caring and trained to acclimate to the home environments where they are assigned, so that parents and clients may experience the relief and peace of mind. These services are available through five Regional Centers in Northern California: North Bay, East Bay, Redwood Coast, Golden Gate and Alta California. Parents and others seeking services from Sonia Corina, Inc. are provided an opportunity to meet with our qualified and trained caregivers prior to services being rendered. Due to Sonia Corina’s history and experience, our agency understands the importance of providing quality care for families in need of relief and support.
